Which areas do you service?

We handle local moves across Greater Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, as well as interstate relocations. Availability outside these metro areas depends on the route and your dates, so include both postcodes when you request a quote and we will confirm what is possible.

Most local moves are time-based and billed in half-hour increments. We confirm the rate, crew, truck and relevant travel or service charges before you book, and use your inventory and access details to estimate the likely duration. A fixed-price quote is also available as an option for suitable moves.

Accuracy matters. Tell us if your inventory, access or dates change so we can update the plan before the crew arrives.

Please provide both addresses, your preferred date, property type, number of rooms and a clear inventory. Tell us about stairs, lifts, loading docks, long carries, difficult parking, heavy or fragile pieces, and whether you need packing or storage.

Photos or a short video are helpful for tricky access and unusual items. For larger or more complex moves, we may recommend a free on-site assessment.

Four to eight weeks ahead is a sensible target for most moves. Book earlier if you need a Friday, the end of the month, a school-holiday date or a summer move, as those periods fill first. Apartment, interstate and office moves also benefit from more notice because lifts, loading docks and delivery schedules need to be coordinated.

If your move is urgent, contact us anyway. A smaller move or flexible midweek date may still be available.

We arrive with the planned crew and truck, plus moving blankets, protective wrap, trolleys and the equipment needed for the job. The team protects and loads your furniture, transports it, unloads it and places items in the rooms you nominate.

Optional services such as packing, boxes, storage and specialist handling are included when they appear in your quote. Read the itemised quote before booking and ask us about anything you do not see.

SAMA Removals carries public liability and goods-in-transit cover. The exact protection, conditions and exclusions matter, so we explain them with your quote and can provide a certificate of currency when a strata or building manager requires one.

Tell us about artwork, antiques or other high-value items before booking. That lets us confirm the right handling plan and whether you should arrange any additional cover.

Yes. You can book a full-home pack, help with selected rooms such as the kitchen, or materials only. We can supply sturdy general-purpose cartons, book and crystal boxes, picture packs and port-a-robes, along with paper and tape.

Let us know what level of help you want when requesting your quote. Packing is much easier to schedule before the moving crew and truck are locked in.

The two main boxes we use for most homes are tea chests and crystal packs.

Tea chest (general household box)

  • Size: 431mm (L) × 406mm (W) × 596mm (H)
  • Capacity: about 104 litres
  • Build: double-walled for extra strength

Crystal pack (book and fragile-item box)

  • Size: 403mm (L) × 301mm (W) × 330mm (H)
  • Build: well-cushioned, double-layer design to protect delicate items

Picture packs and port-a-robes are also available when needed. We can confirm what you will need when we plan your move.

Finish packing unless you have booked our packing service, label boxes by room and keep walkways clear. Empty drawers, disconnect appliances, and empty and defrost the fridge and freezer. Set aside keys, documents, medication, jewellery, chargers and first-night essentials to carry with you.

Keep children and pets safely away from loading areas, reserve any lift or loading dock, and make sure the truck has legal access at both addresses.

Ask the building manager about service-lift and loading-dock bookings, permitted moving hours, protective-cover requirements and any paperwork they need. Confirm lift dimensions, dock height and the time window at both buildings, then send those details to us.

If street parking is restricted, check with the local council about a temporary permit or reserved loading space. These arrangements can take one to three weeks, so start as soon as your date is firm.

Yes, we move specialty items including pianos, antiques, artwork and oversized pieces when they are assessed and planned in advance. Send photos, approximate dimensions and details of stairs, tight turns, lifts and doorways at both properties.

Do not leave a difficult item as a moving-day surprise. Early details let us allocate the right crew, protection and equipment and include the work accurately in your quote.

For safety reasons, removal trucks cannot carry dangerous goods such as fuel, gas bottles, paint, solvents, pool chemicals, pesticides, ammunition or other flammable and explosive items. Pets, refrigerated or frozen food, medication, important documents and irreplaceable valuables should travel with you.

Interstate plant and produce rules vary by destination. Check the relevant quarantine requirements before packing plants, soil or fresh food.

Rain does not normally stop the move. Our team uses protective equipment and careful loading methods to limit exposure, and can protect entry areas where needed. Plastic covers for mattresses and other soft furnishings can also be supplied at cost.

If severe weather creates an access or safety risk, we will speak with you about the safest plan rather than make a rushed decision on the day.

Tell us the handover and settlement windows when we plan the move. We can sequence the load around your vacate time and build a backup plan in case settlement runs late. Depending on the timing, the calmest option may be to load one day and deliver the next.

If the new home is not ready, storage can bridge the gap so the crew is not waiting indefinitely with your belongings on the truck.

Yes. Storage can be added for a short settlement gap, a longer renovation, downsizing or a staged move. Your belongings are kept together in clean storage modules, reducing the repeated handling involved in moving goods in and out of a self-storage unit.

Tell us roughly how much you need to store and for how long. We will include collection, storage and redelivery in the move plan and quote.

We plan interstate moves around your inventory, access, route and preferred collection and delivery windows, then provide a fixed door-to-door quote. Book six to eight weeks ahead where possible, especially over summer and around school holidays.

Keep essential documents, medication and a few days of clothing with you. We will confirm what can travel, how your load will be protected and the expected timing before collection.
