What do you need to quote my Sydney move accurately?
Send us both addresses, your preferred date and a clear inventory. Include stairs, lifts, loading docks, long carries, difficult parking and any heavy or fragile items. Photos or a short video help with tight access. We use those details to plan the right truck and crew, confirm the half-hour rate and estimate the likely duration. Fixed pricing can also be requested as an option.
What should I organise for an apartment or strata move?
Ask your building manager about permitted moving hours, then reserve the service lift or loading dock at both properties. Confirm dock height, lift dimensions and any protection or bond requirements. If the building needs a certificate of currency, tell us early so the paperwork is ready before moving day.
Do I need to reserve parking for the removal truck?
It depends on the street and the building. A private driveway or loading dock is usually straightforward, while a busy or restricted street may need a council permit or reserved loading space. Check the signs and contact the relevant council or building manager as soon as your date is firm, then send us the approved location and time window.
What should be ready before the crew arrives?
Finish packing unless you have booked our packing service, label cartons by room and clear the paths through the home. Empty drawers, disconnect appliances, and empty and defrost the fridge and freezer. Keep keys, medication, documents, jewellery and first-night essentials with you, and secure children and pets away from loading areas.
How do you handle same-day settlement or delayed keys?
We plan the load around your vacate time and expected key handover, with enough buffer for settlement to run late. If access is delayed, the crew may hold the loaded truck for an agreed period or deliver the following day. Short-term storage can be included as a backup when the timing is uncertain.
What protection applies to my belongings and property?
SAMA Removals carries public liability and goods-in-transit cover, and we protect furniture and access areas with the equipment planned for your move. Tell us about artwork, antiques and other high-value items before booking. We will explain the relevant cover, conditions and exclusions with your quote so you can decide whether any additional protection is appropriate.
